— FAQs

Energy & carbon FAQs.

How film cuts cooling bills, trims winter loss and reduces carbon.

How much can window film save on energy bills?

It depends on glass area, orientation, glazing and film grade. In cooled buildings the summer cooling saving can be meaningful; our Energy Savings Calculator gives an indicative annual figure in seconds.

Does film help in winter?

Low-emissivity films reflect some indoor heat back into the room, trimming heat loss through large windows — a smaller, year-round benefit on top of the summer cooling saving.

Is window film good for sustainability?

Yes — it reduces cooling (and some heating) energy and its carbon, and upgrading existing glazing with film avoids the embodied carbon and waste of replacing whole window units. See our Environmental Policy.

Does it reduce air-conditioning running costs?

Yes — by rejecting up to 79% of solar heat, less cooling is needed to hold temperature, so the system runs less.

Can film help meet comfort or overheating targets?

It's a recognised, cost-effective way to reduce solar heat gain and overheating in glazed spaces — often used where re-glazing isn't practical.
