For static caravans

Professional window film for static caravans and park homes.

Static caravans and park homes often have large areas of glazing in compact living spaces. Direct sunlight can therefore create uncomfortable heat, screen glare, fading and a lack of privacy where neighbouring pitches are close by.

We assess the glazing, window orientation, required privacy, acceptable light level and the window substrate before recommending a film. Standard glass film must not automatically be applied to acrylic or polycarbonate glazing.

This page covers fixed static caravans, holiday homes and residential park homes. Touring caravans, motorhomes, hotels and lodges are not included.

Benefits

Benefits of static caravan
and park-home film.

Daytime Privacy on Close-Pitched Parks

Reflective privacy film can reduce inward visibility during daylight while preserving an outward view. It works best when it is brighter outside than inside; internal lighting can reduce or reverse the effect after dark.

For day-and-night privacy, frosted or opaque film may be more suitable, although it will obscure the view through the glass. See our privacy window film.

Solar Heat and Glare Reduction

Solar-control film can reduce solar energy and glare through suitable glazing, helping bright lounges, dining areas and bedrooms feel more comfortable in sunny weather.

Performance depends on the film, glazing, window orientation and total glazed area. We explain the balance between heat rejection, glare reduction, visible light and reflectivity before installation. See our solar-control window film.

UV Protection for Caravan and Park-Home Interiors

Selected professional films can block up to 99% of ultraviolet radiation, helping reduce UV-related fading of upholstery, curtains, flooring, photographs and furnishings. UV is only one contributor to fading, so film cannot completely prevent colour change.

Removable Film for Suitable Glass

Professionally installed film can usually be removed from suitable glass. Removal time and the final result depend on the product, substrate, installation age and condition. Clean removal cannot be guaranteed from acrylic or polycarbonate glazing.

Compatibility

Glass, acrylic and
polycarbonate compatibility.

Static caravans and park homes can use flat glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, coated plastic or a mixture of substrates.

Standard architectural glass film must not be installed on acrylic or polycarbonate unless the manufacturer confirms the product is designed for that use. Unsuitable film can bubble, lift or damage plastic glazing during removal.

We identify the substrate during the survey and specify a suitable glass film or specialist plastic-compatible product. Where the material cannot be confirmed, we complete a compatibility test or obtain manufacturer guidance before quoting.

Choosing a film

Which film is right for your
static caravan or park home?

For daytime privacy with a view out

Use a suitable reflective privacy film where the exterior remains brighter than the interior.

For day-and-night privacy

Use a frosted, translucent or opaque product where losing the clear view is acceptable.

For heat and glare

Choose a solar-control film based on the glazing, orientation, required performance and acceptable level of tint or reflectivity.

For UV protection with a subtle appearance

Consider a clear or neutral UV-control product compatible with the substrate.

We show suitable samples and explain the expected appearance, privacy and light level before approval.

Our process

Our caravan and park-home
installation process.

1

Initial enquiry

Collect the park or site location, photographs, approximate measurements and the customer's priority.

2

Survey and substrate check

Inspect the window material, take measurements and assess orientation, access and light conditions.

3

Film recommendation

Explain the suitable products, performance, appearance, limitations and warranty, then provide a written quotation.

4

Professional installation

Protect surrounding surfaces, prepare the glazing, install the approved film and inspect the work.

5

Aftercare

Cost

How much does static caravan
window film cost?

The cost depends on the total glazing area, number and shape of panes, selected film, window substrate, access and travel to the caravan park or private site.

Photographs and approximate measurements may allow initial guidance, but the final quotation depends on confirming the substrate and film compatibility. The written quote covers the film, preparation, professional installation and agreed travel costs. Most straightforward quotations are returned within two working days once the required information is available.

FAQ

Static caravan and park-home
window film FAQs.

Do you travel to caravan parks across Scotland?

Yes. We survey and install static caravan and park-home window film across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline, Fife, Stirling, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and other parts of Scotland. Travel arrangements depend on the park or private-site location and the size of the project.

Does one-way privacy film work at night?

One-way reflective film relies on a difference in light levels and provides its strongest privacy when it is brighter outside than inside. At night, internal lighting can reduce or reverse the effect. Frosted or opaque film is more suitable where privacy is required both day and night.

Can film be installed on acrylic or polycarbonate caravan windows?

Only where a product is genuinely designed for that material. Standard architectural glass film must not automatically be applied to acrylic or polycarbonate, as it can bubble, lift or damage the glazing during removal. We identify the substrate during the survey and specify a suitable product.

Can film be installed on double-glazed park-home windows?

Many films can be installed on double glazing, but the product must be compatible with the pane construction, coatings and condition. We inspect the glazing and specify a compatible film before installation.

Will the film make the caravan dark?

That depends on the selected product. Lighter and neutral films retain more daylight, while darker or more reflective films provide stronger heat, glare or privacy performance. We show samples and explain the visible-light transmission before installation.

How long does installation take?

Many static caravans and park homes can be completed within a day, depending on the total glazed area, number of panes, substrate and access. The expected duration is confirmed in the quotation.

Can the film be removed later?

Film can usually be professionally removed from suitable glass. Removal time and the final result depend on the product, substrate, installation age and condition. Clean removal cannot be guaranteed from acrylic or polycarbonate.

How long does the film last?

Service life depends on the product, substrate, orientation, exposure and maintenance. Manufacturer-backed warranties are available on qualifying products; the applicable term is stated in the quotation.

Do I need permission from the caravan park?

Some parks and site owners have rules about alterations to caravans and park homes. We recommend checking with the park or site management first — we can provide product and appearance information to help with any approval.

Do you tint touring caravans or motorhomes?

No. This service covers static caravans, holiday homes and residential park homes only. Touring caravans and motorhomes are not included.
