Commercial window film installation across Scotland.

Window Tint Company surveys, specifies and installs architectural window film for commercial buildings across Scotland. We work with business owners, facilities managers, property managers, landlords, tenants, contractors and other property professionals.

Every project begins with an assessment of the existing glass, window orientation, solar exposure, internal working conditions, access requirements and the result the client needs. We then recommend a compatible film and explain its appearance, performance and limitations before installation.

Projects range from individual meeting rooms and shopfronts to open-plan offices, schools, hospitality premises and larger areas of commercial glazing. Installation can be phased or scheduled around normal operating hours where required.

Solutions

Solar-Control and Heat-Reduction Window Film for Offices

Commercial solar-control window film reduces solar energy passing through existing glazing, helping offices and workplaces manage overheating and uncomfortable temperature differences near windows.

Selected films can reject up to 79% of total solar energy, depending on the product and glazing. Where mechanical cooling is used, reducing solar heat gain may also reduce the demand placed on the cooling system.

The appropriate product is selected according to the glass, window orientation, required solar performance, acceptable reflectivity and the level of natural light the client wants to retain. See our commercial solar-control window film.

Anti-Glare Window Film for Offices

Anti-glare window film reduces harsh sunlight and reflections on monitors, presentation screens and other workplace displays. It is particularly useful in south- and west-facing offices, reception areas, classrooms and meeting rooms.

Stronger glare reduction normally involves reducing a proportion of visible light. During the survey, we help the client select a film that improves screen comfort without making the workplace unnecessarily dark. See our anti-glare window film.

Commercial Privacy and Frosted Window Film

Commercial privacy film can improve confidentiality and visual separation in meeting rooms, treatment rooms, offices, internal glazed partitions and ground-floor commercial premises.

Frosted film provides consistent privacy while allowing diffuse daylight through the glass. Reflective films can provide daytime privacy under suitable lighting conditions, but their effect may reduce or reverse when the interior becomes brighter than the exterior.

Options include full coverage, privacy bands, simple decorative patterns and opaque finishes. See our commercial privacy window film.

Glass Manifestation

Large areas of transparent glass can be difficult to identify. Glass manifestation creates visible markings on glazed doors, screens and partitions to reduce the risk of accidental collision.

Manifestation can use simple dots, bands or non-branded patterns. Its purpose is to make the glazing visible; it does not strengthen the glass or provide an impact-safety upgrade. See our glass manifestation.

Commercial Safety and Anti-Shatter Window Film

Safety and anti-shatter film helps retain broken glass following accidental impact, vandalism or another breakage event. It can reduce the risk of loose glass fragments and help hold the damaged pane in place.

The required product depends on the existing glass, pane dimensions, frame, installation method and required performance. Where enhanced retention is needed, an appropriate edge-retention or attachment system may also be specified.

Safety film does not make glass unbreakable, and its performance should be described according to documented test data for the relevant film-and-glass system. See our safety and security window film.

UV-Protection Window Film for Retail and Commercial Interiors

Selected professional window films can block up to 99% of ultraviolet radiation, helping reduce UV-related fading of retail stock, furnishings, flooring, displays, artwork and interior finishes.

UV radiation is only one cause of fading, so no film should be described as completely preventing colour loss or material degradation. Clear and neutral products are available where maintaining the existing appearance of the glass is important.

Anti-Graffiti Window Film

Sacrificial anti-graffiti film creates a replaceable protective layer over vulnerable glass. It can help protect glazing from scratching, light abrasion and some forms of deliberate surface damage.

Where the film becomes damaged, it can normally be replaced at a lower cost than replacing the underlying glass. See our anti-graffiti window film.

Our process

Our commercial survey
and installation process.

1

Initial brief

Tell us about the building, glazing and required outcome. Plans, photographs, pane schedules and approximate measurements can help us provide initial guidance.

2

Commercial site survey

We inspect the glass, take measurements and assess orientation, coatings, access, working conditions and site restrictions.

3

Film specification

We recommend the appropriate film and provide relevant information on appearance, visible-light transmission, solar performance, privacy, safety classification and warranty.

4

Installation planning

We agree access, sequencing, working hours and protection requirements. Where required, project documentation can include risk assessments, method statements and product information.

5

Professional installation

The installation area is protected and the glazing is carefully prepared before the film is applied, finished and inspected. Work can be phased or completed outside normal operating hours where agreed.

6

Handover and warranty

The client receives aftercare guidance and the applicable manufacturer warranty information. Where required, we can also provide a record of the product installed and its location.

Planning & access

Commercial glazing safety,
access and project planning.

Commercial window-film work may involve occupied workplaces, public access, high glazing and operational restrictions. We plan each project around the site conditions and coordinate access, working areas and installation times with the client.

Where work at height is required, the access method must be selected following a site-specific assessment. Work should be properly planned, supervised and carried out by competent people using equipment suitable for the task.

Manifestation, impact safety and security are separate requirements. Manifestation makes transparent glazing visible. Safety film helps retain broken glass. Security systems may use thicker films and specialist attachment systems. Each requirement should be specified independently rather than described under one general compliance claim.

Cost

How much does commercial
window film cost?

Commercial window-film pricing depends on the total glass area, number and size of panes, selected film, glazing construction, access, working hours and project documentation required. High glazing, external-grade products, specialist safety systems and phased or out-of-hours work can affect the final price.

Following the site survey, we provide a written quotation covering the recommended film, preparation, installation and any agreed access requirements. Larger projects may also be divided into phases or priced by area. Initial guidance can sometimes be provided from photographs, measurements or a glazing schedule, although a site survey may be required before the specification is confirmed.

Most straightforward quotations are returned within two working days once all required survey information is available. Larger or technically complex projects may take longer.

FAQ

Commercial window
film FAQs.

Can you install outside our normal operating hours?

Yes, evening and weekend installation can be arranged for suitable projects. Availability, building access, noise restrictions and security arrangements are agreed during planning.

Will office window film make the workplace dark?

That depends on the selected product. Clear and neutral films retain more visible light, while darker or more reflective films provide stronger glare, solar or privacy performance. We provide samples and explain the visible-light transmission before installation.

Can window film reduce office overheating?

Solar-control film can reduce the solar energy passing through glazing and help improve comfort in affected areas. The final indoor temperature also depends on ventilation, insulation, internal heat sources, building controls and the size and orientation of the glazing.

Can window film reduce cooling costs?

Reducing solar heat gain may lower the demand placed on mechanical cooling systems. The financial saving varies by building, HVAC system, energy tariff, occupancy and operating pattern, so a fixed saving should not be assumed without a building-specific assessment.

Do you install glass manifestation?

Yes. Manifestation can be installed on glazed doors, partitions and screens using bands, dots or simple non-branded patterns. The required layout should be agreed with the client or project designer against the applicable Scottish building guidance.

Does glass manifestation make the glass safer?

Manifestation makes transparent glazing easier to see and helps reduce collision risk. It does not strengthen the glass. Where impact retention is required, a separately specified safety-film system may be needed.

Can safety film bring existing glass up to a required classification?

Some tested film-and-glass combinations can achieve specific impact classifications. The required result must be assessed against the existing glass and supported by applicable manufacturer test documentation.

Can you work on high-level commercial glazing?

Yes, subject to a site survey and suitable access arrangements. The required equipment and installation method depend on the glazing height, location, surrounding surfaces and site restrictions.

How long does commercial installation take?

Small offices or individual meeting rooms may be completed within one day. Larger facades, multi-floor buildings, complex manifestation layouts and phased installations require more time. The anticipated programme is confirmed before work begins.

Can the film be removed later?

Most architectural films can be professionally removed from suitable glass. Removal time depends on the product, installation age, adhesive and access. A replacement film or new manifestation can then be installed where required.

Do you cover all of Scotland?

Yes. We provide commercial window-film surveys and installation across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline, Fife, Stirling, Falkirk, Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire and other parts of Scotland. Survey and travel arrangements depend on project location and size.
