How privacy window film works.

Privacy film is the fix for any window that's overlooked — a street-facing living room, a ground-floor bathroom, a boardroom, or a shopfront. Instead of net curtains or permanently-closed blinds, the film gives you privacy during daylight while keeping the view out and the light coming in. We fit frosted, one-way mirror and decorative privacy films across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dunfermline and the rest of Scotland.

Why it matters

What this film does.

Privacy

One-way daytime privacy

Reflective (one-way mirror) film lets you see out while people outside see only a mirror during daylight — ideal for street-level rooms and offices.

Privacy

Frosted without the cost of etched glass

Frosted film gives the look of sandblasted glass for bathrooms, doors and partitions at a fraction of the price, and it's removable.

Privacy

Keep your natural light

Unlike blinds, privacy film doesn't darken the room — you keep the daylight and lose only the sightline in.

Patterns & branding

Decorative and manifestation patterns add privacy plus style or branding to glass partitions and shopfronts.

FAQ

Questions about
privacy work.

Does one-way privacy film work at night?

One-way mirror film relies on it being brighter outside than inside, so it works during daylight. At night, with your lights on and it dark outside, the effect reverses — for night privacy pair it with a blind or curtain, or use a frosted film instead.

Will frosted film make the room dark?

No — frosted film diffuses light rather than blocking it, so the room stays bright while the view through is obscured.

Can I still see out?

With mirrored one-way film, yes — you keep a clear view out by day. Frosted and heavily-patterned films obscure the view both ways (that's their purpose).

Is privacy film removable?

Yes — it's applied to the inside of the glass and can be cleanly removed later without damaging the window.

Can you match a specific pattern or add a logo?

Yes — frosted manifestation film can be cut to custom patterns, bands or your logo. Send us the artwork and we'll prepare a proof.
