When is the best time of year to get window film?

Any time — but booking before summer beats the rush. Here's how the seasons affect window film.

Window film can be installed at any time of year — it's an indoor job on the inside of your glass, unaffected by weather. But there are sensible times to book, and a bit of planning avoids the summer rush.

Book before summer for heat

If your goal is beating the heat, get it done in spring or early summer — before the hot spells, and before everyone else calls at once. Demand for solar film peaks in the first heatwave, so booking ahead means you're protected when it matters.

Winter is a great time too

Winter and autumn are quieter, so lead times are shorter — ideal for getting privacy, safety or UV film sorted, or for planning solar film ahead of next summer. Low-e film also helps with winter heat loss, so there's a cold-season benefit.

It's a year-round job

Because film is fitted indoors, there's no bad weather for installation — we work through the year across Scotland. UV protection and privacy are relevant every season, not just summer.

The bottom line

Any time works, but booking solar film before summer avoids the rush and the heat, while quieter months mean shorter lead times. Book a survey whenever suits you.
