Window film colours and finishes explained

Clear, neutral, tinted, mirrored or frosted — here's the range of looks window film comes in.

Window film isn't one look — it comes in a range of finishes, from completely clear to mirrored to frosted, so you can get the performance you need with the appearance you want. Here's the range.

Clear and neutral

Modern spectrally-selective solar films can be near-clear or a subtle neutral grey, rejecting heat and UV while looking almost invisible — ideal where you want the glass to look unchanged.

Tinted and reflective

Tinted films add a darker tone; reflective (mirror) films give a silvered daytime look from outside and strong privacy. These suit sun-facing rooms, offices and shopfronts where a bit of tint or a mirror finish is welcome.

Frosted and decorative

Frosted films give the etched-glass look for privacy; decorative films add patterns, gradients, colours or branding. These are as much about style as function, for partitions, doors and feature glass.

Choosing the finish

The finish is chosen alongside performance — we show samples on the survey so you can see clear vs neutral vs reflective vs frosted against your own glass and light before deciding.

The bottom line

From invisible to mirrored to frosted, there's a film finish to match any look and need. Book a survey to see samples and choose the right one.
